School Psychologists/Psychometrists provide services for all schools in Montgomery County. The staff currently consists of 14 Psychometrists.
School psychologists/psychometrists have special training in the areas of education and psychology. Along with educators, parents, and professionals, we strive to ensure that all children in Montgomery County learn in healthy, safe and supportive environments. School psychologists/psychometrists understand teaching styles that are effective and successful. We appreciate that the children in today’s schools constantly face challenges. Our goal is to promote educationally and psychologically healthy environments to ensure that all children and youth in Montgomery County become optimal learners, reach their full potential and become productive members of society. Our department assists in early identification of learning and behavior problems and developing interventions that lead to optimal learning opportunities with respect for individual differences. Collaborations with parents, educators, and community agencies are utilized to foster effective learning environments and promote sensitivity to the diversity and changing needs of our society.
