Certified Positions - Application Procedures
Thank you for your interest in the Montgomery Public Schools. We are continually seeking highly qualified educators to join our team. Your compliance with the following procedures and instructions will expedite consideration of your application.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Complete application form (EA 10-99)
- Official transcripts from colleges and universities attended.
- Photocopy of Alabama Teacher’s Certificate.
- Three (blue) references attached (must be mailed). You may use the (blue) forms provided or a similar form used by other organizations. You may provide additional letters of recommendation. If you are a recent graduate, we will accept a copy of your school’s placement file. However, it must include at least three references.
- Self-Identification Form (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990).
CERTIFICATION
Except in emergency situations, we do not employ any teacher, principal or educational administrator who is not certified by the State of Alabama. You should make sure that you have the proper certification and endorsements for each position for which you are applying.
INTERVIEWS
When an application package is complete, including transcripts and all references, a preliminary screening interview will be scheduled by the Office of Human Resources.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- We accept applications for teaching positions on a continuing basis: however, most employment decisions are made during the summer after we have determined our needs for the next year. We also recruit at various colleges and universities and attend career day programs.
- All vacancies are filled after specific position announcements are posted. Most of these announcements occur during the summer months. Vacancies may be reviewed through our Website address at www.mps.kl2.al.us or our job line number at (334) 223-6898.
- All applications are reviewed, screened, and filed according to teaching field. If you inquire about your application, please indicate the teaching field (area of endorsement) and the date of application.
- Applications are kept active for 12 months after receipt. You may keep your application active by notifying us in writing of your continued interest.
