Foreign Language
The purpose of the Montgomery Public School District’s foreign language program is to encourage the appreciation of cultural values; to enable students to learn to communicate in another language; and to prepare them to successfully enter and compete in an increasingly global society.
A variety of modern and classical languages are offered, including:
- French (offered in selected middle and all high schools)
- German (offered in selected middle schools and most high schools)
- Latin (offered in selected middle schools and most high schools)
- Spanish (offered in all middle and high schools)
The Office of Foreign Language Instruction does not endorse the study of any one particular language; both modern and classical languages are considered to be important cornerstones of any academic curriculum.
